Screen Rant presents an exclusive new Suitable Flesh clip teasing Heather Graham's transformation into a new woman in H.P. Lovecraft adaptation. Suitable Flesh brings a terrifying twist to the world of body-swapping, based on H.P. Lovecraft's "The Thing on the Doorstep." The movie features a talented ensemble cast including Heather Graham, Judah Lewis, and Barbara Crampton. Lovecraft's works have inspired a recent trend in horror films, with Suitable Flesh being a great addition to the modern Lovecraftian horror genre. The world of body-swapping gets a terrifying twist in an exclusive Suitable Flesh clip. Based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Thing on the Doorstep", the movie centers on a psychiatrist who attempts to help a troubled new patient with a seeming personality disorder, only to learn of a darker supernatural reason behind his troubles. Heather Graham leads the ensemble Suitable Flesh cast alongside Judah Lewis, Bruce Davison, Johnathon Schaech, Barbara Crampton, Graham Skipper and Jonah Ray. But sex is the last thing on anyone's mind when they're first introduced, as clinical psychiatrist Dr. Daniella Upton (Crampton) is off to meet her newest and most dangerous patient: her old friend and colleague Dr. Elizabeth Derby (Graham), locked up for not just a hideous murder but extensive abuse of a corpse. In a Gordon-esque flashback, she explains exactly what happened and how it involves her own patient, Asa Waite (Lewis), and his conviction that his decrepit and degenerate daddy, Ephraim (Davison), is trying to steal his body. That Stuart Gordon saucy twist comes in with the idea of using someone's flesh for your own pleasures, and while Elizabeth finds her heart melting for poor Asa, her compassion turns to passion whenever he seems to undergo a personality change and … well, let's just say the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Psychologists might not approve of their sessions on (and under and up against) the couch. For most of its run, the greatest volume of body fluid in Suitable Flesh is definitely sweat, as Elizabeth violates her Hippocratic oath on her scratchy office carpet with Asa, then goes home to her perpetually shirtless husband, Edward (Schaech, having a blast as a silver-fox himbo). Crampton, a Gordon regular, leaps back into the lascivious fray with wild abandon, but it's Graham who really gets to scratch the story's freaky itch. And that's complicated by the body-swap plot: After all, this is a story where just about everybody ends up inside of everyone else (pun most definitely intended). This means an incredible interplay between Graham and Lewis, which has to be by turns tender, terrifying, and randy. And it's a particular kind of sexy that Lynch is going for, the salacious and sultry sensuality of the Eighties, complete with constant sax solos. Honestly, this may be the only horror film that invokes Red Shoe Diaries and Cthulhu equally. The video, as seen above, finds Schaech's Edward coming home to find Graham's Elizabeth drinking earlier in the day than usual and asking for a cigarette, despite never having a smoked during their relationship. Before he can question her on her change in personality, she pulls out a knife and threateningly seduces him. Though his works have made their way to the screen throughout the years, the past few years have seen horror filmmakers look back to Lovecraft's bibliography for a variety of projects. One of the first movies to begin this trend was the Nicolas Cage-led Color Out of Space, which garnered widespread acclaim and was considered part of his recent resurgence alongside Pig and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. The recently released Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities also featured two direct adaptations of his stories in Keith Thomas' "Pickman's Model" episode and Catherine Hardwicke's "Dreams in the Witch House".
